Berlin/Espelkamp, June 11, 2008 --- Once again, the HARTING Technology Group’s proactive commitment to the association has proved to be a key impetus giver to the German business community: Philip F. W. Harting, who is responsible for the “Connectivity & Networks” division on the Management Board of this family enterprise headquartered in Espelkamp, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Exhibition and Trade Fair Committee of the German Business Community AUMA
(Ausstellungs- und Messe-Ausschuss der deutschen Wirtschaft e.V.) for a term of three years in Berlin yesterday.
The AUMA, founded in 1907, currently has 84 members, including the umbrella organizations of the German business community from industry, the wholesale and retail sector and artisan trades, specialist associations of the sectors exhibiting at and visiting the fairs, the German trade fair and expo organizers as well as the companies responsible for arranging attendance at foreign trade fairs. In addition to representing the interests of its members on a national and international scale, the task of this body includes providing foreign marketing support for the German organizers.
Philip Harting’s election to the Board of Directors of the AUMA came in response to a nomination by the Central Association of the Electrical Engineering and Electronics Industry ZVEI (Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie e.V.). Philip Harting has exercised his responsibilities as a Management Board member of the HARTING Technology Group since March 1 of this year. He was previously in charge of business development of the Technology Group as Managing Director in Asia (since 2005).
